About the Rocky Mountain Field Institute

Castleton Tower The Rocky Mountain Field Institute has been working in concert with federal, state and local land management agencies since 1989 at locations in the Southern Rocky Mountains and Colorado Plateau to address critical land preservation and restoration needs. RMFI programs integrate environmental stewardship, education and research, and provide meaningful 'hands-on' learning opportunities for individuals, organizations, and institutions.

RMFI programs share these common objectives:

  • Assist public land managers in completing critical preservation and restoration work.
  • Provide high quality and challenging environmental stewardship opportunities.
  • Promote a public lands stewardship ethic based upon preservation values.
