Colorado College Kellogg-Ahlberg Desert Adventure

A hands-on alternative spring break for Colorado College students in the canyonlands of Utah.
Beautiful staircases are built one large rock at a time

This 10-day program run in partnership with Colorado College's Outdoor Recreation Club combines environmental service with recreation in Utah's beautiful Canyonlands country.  Students spend 5 days completing trail and restoration work in the highly popular rock climbing area Indian Creek Canyon, followed by a 5-day backpacking and canyoneering adventure.  Integrated into both components is a curriculum that focuses on the ecology of the area and an introduction to the land management policy.

This program is offered for students at Colorado College in conjunction with the Outdoor Recreation Club with the support of the Ritt Kellogg Memorial Fund and Jerry Ahlberg Outdoor Education Fund. The program has been instrumental in constructing trails to several key climbing locations in Indian Creek Canyon including Broken Tooth Wall, Way Rambo Wall, Cat Wall, 4x4 Wall, and Bridger Jack Butte.
