Field Instructor

RMFI is hiring Field Instructors for the 2017 field season. The position will start in late March and end in the middle of November. The Field Instructor aids in the planning and implementation of RMFI's trail, restoration, and education field programs. The Field Instructor leads community volunteers, youth crews, and students in completing ecological restoration projects throughout the Southern Colorado and the Pikes Peak Region and also works on the RMFI stewardship work crew on projects days that do not include volunteer events. High Alpine Field Instructor

RMFI is hiring one part-time, seasonal High Alpine Field Instructor (HIFI) for the 2017 summer field season. The position will begin in early June and end in mid-September. The HIFI will work the entirety of the Kit Carson Peak-Challenger Ridge Trail Improvement Project, spending up to 30 days at one time in a remote, backcountry location overseeing this highly technical project improving the summit trail to two 14,000-foot peaks. The HIFI will oversee youth corps crews, volunteers, and college students participating in the Earth Corps program. Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive experience in trail work (particularly working with stone), extended trips in the backcountry, and recent history as an outdoor leader.
