RMFI Citizen Science Closed Trail Observation Session.
Participants will meet at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center for a 30-minute data collection training with Maggie Gaddis, Ph.D., RMFI's Citizen Science independent contractor. Participants will then go out in smalls teams to collect data for one hour.
Wear sunscreen. Bring a camp chair and umbrella (shade) for observing. The walk into the trail varies but will always be on maintained trails on rolling terrain at 6,500ft. Once at the observation spot, you sit in the blind for one hour to collect data on the number of trail users and their behavior when they encounter the closed trail.
