El Paso County Issues Stage II Fire Restrictions

Due to the large fire conditions in the southern part of the county and the high wind conditions which have resulted in extreme fire weather the Sheriff’s office has ordered Stage II Fire Restrictions for all of the unincorporated areas of El Paso County. The Stage II Fire Restrictions shall go into effect immediately and the following are prohibited:

1. All open fire & open burning is banned

2. Sale/use of fireworks is banned

3. Outdoor smoking is banned except within an enclosed vehicle or building

The Stage II Restrictions shall remain in effect until such time the restrictions are modified pursuant to El Paso County Ordinance #15-001.
