Give! like you’ve never given before!

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- Since its inception in 2009, the Give! Campaign has raised more than $13 million for 223 local nonprofits, including a record $1.6 million in 2019. More than ever, this year’s campaign, which launched on November 1, will provide much-needed support to 78 local nonprofits in Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities.

“The nonprofits supported by Give! provide life-changing services to the most vulnerable among us in the Pikes Peak region,” says Alicia Cover, Campaign Manager for the Give! Campaign. “The organizations selected to participate in the 2020 campaign support veterans, the arts, health and human services, youth, the great outdoors, and animals, among others. Our goal for the 2020 campaign is to raise $1.2 million to help people give back to causes they care about - especially during this incredibly challenging year.”

Of the 78 nonprofits selected to participate this year, 10 are joining the campaign for the first time, including Blackpackers, an organization that alleviates barriers to people of color enjoying outdoor recreation; and Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization comprised of volunteers who build and deliver beds to children and families in need.

In addition to raising money, the campaign provides nonprofits with valuable networking opportunities, friendly competitions, donor rewards and media exposure for participants. Bristol Brewing Company continues to be one of the campaign’s largest supporters and while the annual kick-off party had to be canceled due to COVID-19, Bristol is donating a portion of their flagship beer purchases to the Give! Campaign nonprofit of the customer’s choice through December 31.

According to Cover, this year’s donations will also be matched by more than $500,000 in matching grants. Donors who contribute $25 or more will receive rewards donated by local businesses. Additionally, there are special incentives for some of the area’s youngest donors and kids under 17 years of age can earn special rewards for any donation of $10 or more.

While COVID continues to create uncertainty and unique challenges for the foreseeable future, Cover says the outpouring of support has been inspiring so far - a testament to Give’s legacy in the Pikes Peak region. “We are fortunate to live in such a compassionate and caring community and Give is a cherished annual tradition known for raising awareness of some of the area’s smallest nonprofits that often provide the most valuable services,” she says.

The ongoing pandemic has created ongoing economic hardship for people and families who now, for the first time ever, need the services provided by the nonprofits. Cover says that for this reason, the needs of all these organizations are growing daily. “It’s imperative that we support these nonprofits in any way we can, so this year, donations mean even more,” she says.
