Get Outdoors Day
A variety of outdoor businesses and nonprofit agencies will have activities on display for the public to try.
New to Colorado? New to the outdoors? Never hiked, camped, fished, hunted, boated, biked and unsure where to start? Get down to Get Outdoors Day, a free festival Colorado Parks and Wildlife has hosted each year in Colorado Springs since 2015.
Get Outdoors Day features a variety of outdoor businesses and nonprofit agencies ready to introduce you to activities that you can try at Memorial Park/Prospect Lake.
Not into fly fishing? Try spin casting. Maybe you can’t mountain bike. Try a new pedal-assisted electric bike. Maybe you want to learn about mapping. Or perhaps bird watching is more your style.
There will be a "touch a truck" area for kids to see and touch a variety of vehicles, such as those used by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Always a favorite is a climbing wall where you can test your vertical skills.
Learn about trail maintenance, bird watching and conservation. Play games and participate in scavenger hunts. Plus, kids will receive a fly fishing pole and water bottle for coming!
There’s something for everyone in the family and all ages.
