Red Rock Canyon Open Space

Red Rock Canyon Open Space received significant damages from the May 2015 springs rains. Although the park will be reopened to the public, the amount of flood damage done will require lots of work over the coming weeks and months to repair. RMFI will be partnering with the City of Colorado Springs and the Friends of Red Rock Canyon to address the highest priority areas in the park. Come lend a hand and give back to this beloved local open space.

We will begin working to stabilize the creek channel near the Round Up Trail. This workday will require a short hike into the park while carrying tools. Primary tasks will include building rock structures within and around the creek channel.
