Red Rock Canyon Open Space

Red Rock Canyon Open Space received significant damages from the May 2015 springs rains. Although the park will be reopened to the public, the amount of flood damage done will require lots of work over the coming weeks and months to repair. RMFI will be partnering with the City of Colorado Springs and the Friends of Red Rock Canyon to address the highest priority areas in the park. Come lend a hand and give back to this beloved local open space.

We will be working on trail repairs to the popular Quarry Pass Trail. This workday will require a short hike into the park while carrying tools. Primary tasks will include regrading of the trail and general improvements to existing trail structures as well as building new structures to stabilize and protect the trail including retaining walls, drainage structures, and check dams.
