SATURDAY, MAY 19

TRAILWORK 8 AM - 12 PM. LUNCH AND RECREATION TO FOLLOW!

Join RMFI and friends for a day of stewardship and recreation at Red Rock Canyon Open Space to celebrate the second annual COLORADO PUBLIC LANDS DAY! Colorado is the first state in the nation to designate our own state holiday to recognize our public lands. Come celebrate with a day of giving back and enjoying the recreational opportunities of one of our treasured local public open spaces!

Our morning stewardship project will focus on restoration of an unsustainable, non-designated trail between the Mesa Trail and Intemann Trail which parallels the designated Section 16 connector trail. Additional restoration tasks, trail repairs and maintenance in this area may also be included if time and group size allow. After work, enjoy lunch courtesy of Mad Crane Marketing, and then go play! Recreation opportunities include a guided educational 3rd Saturday Adventure hike with UpaDowna, guided and social rock climbing with the Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance (loaner gear is available if needed and beginners are welcome), and social group bike riding (bring your own gear). After all that, head down to the after-party celebration with prize drawings and drink specials at Fossil Craft Beer Company

Minimum age for the stewardship project is 16, or 13 with an accompanying parent or guardian volunteer.

If you have questions, or would like to register a group, please contact Molly Mazel, Volunteer & Partnership Coordinator, (719) 471-7736 ext. 4# or molly@rmfi.org
