Old Midland School Open House

Set in an eclectic neighborhood, a horse stable up the street, chickens crowing and geese honking from a home next door, pigeons roosting on the fire escapes, and twin fawns frolicking through the playground, the Old Midland School has become a gathering space of creative souls! With tall tin ceilings, original woodwork, hardwood floors and classrooms still fully intact, this 1902 building is filling with some amazingly creative businesses! Come and be our guests on Friday September 6^th 5-8pm for an open house to tour the beautiful old school and meet the nonprofits, artists, engineers, and other that work out of this historic building. 

We'll have munchies and beverages! Come meet the following tenants:

Rocky Mountain Field Institute: Your favorite dirt-grubbing rock haulers! You think you know everything there is to know about us?! Nah, stop by and schmooze with the staff and board of RMFI. 

Terra Nova Engineering, Inc: Terra Nova Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineering consulting firm that provides unique civil engineering design solutions for small to large development projects along the front range. Drainage, grading, water and sewer design expertise are provided at a reasonable cost. Creative solutions for complex problems is the hallmark of our firm.

Deb Komitor Fine Art Studio: Original oil paintings. Expressions of landscape and nature draped in bold brushstrokes, color and spirit. Various workshops offered throughout the year. Over a year ago I realized it was time to take a leap of faith. I had a small studio and knew it was no longer working for my artistic needs. I needed more space. I needed a change. After reading several articles about alternative spaces for studios I started looking around to see what was out there. One call led me to The Old Midland School! I can’t think of a better place to go each day to create! 

Summit Behavioral Services: At Summit Behavioral Services, we believe that all children can learn, grow, and become contributing members of society. We develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis. We use ongoing assessment and daily data analysis, to make informed decisions related to each child's growth and progress.

Summit Behavioral Services offers in-home, community, and clinic based behavioral intervention programs as well as school consultation. Our professional team provides expert intervention for children and adults. We provide assessment, training, and consultation to parents, teachers, and caregivers who work with children with problem behaviors and skill deficits. We pride ourselves on utilizing best practice and scientifically proven treatments. Our dedicated team is committed to collaboratively creating an individualized intervention program around each child's specific needs. 

Artistic Yarn by Abi Inc: Indie yarn dyer Abi Grasso specializes in unique, whimsical self-striping sock yarn for knitters.  She has developed a dyeing technique for "picture" yarn that, when knitted properly knits up into socks with little figures such as: santas, snowmen, toadstools, and bunnies.

Invicible Heart Co: HeArt-ful workshops with a focus on positive intention and uplifting creative play.  We use creativity to work through the emotions of daily living and struggles in a positive way that affirms our life, empowers our courageous exploration and is safe and fun! Our purpose is to share and feed creativity in our local community by exploring a variety of art mediums through positive, energetic self-aware classes. We love this Pikes Peak area and are always working towards better ways of giving back to our community and charitable organizations. We offer full day workshops, small classes, team building events and more.
