Other Ways to Support RMFI

Other Ways to Support RMFI

At RMFI, we deeply appreciate the community’s support for our mission and the many ways that manifests itself. Here’s information about devoting your time, talent and treasure to forwarding public lands stewardship in Southern Colorado.

Donate Online

Your online gift provides critical financial support for RMFI's programs and projects. Please click here to support RMFI today.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers have giving programs that match employee contributions dollar for dollar. These types of giving programs are awesome because they help leverage your donation even farther and also result in increased impact on the ground! We encourage you to check and see whether your employer has a giving program that you and RMFI could benefit from.

Donate Stocks, Bonds, or Mutual Funds

These types of gifts and other appreciated assets can supply RMFI with critical operating dollars to support programs and projects that make a huge difference in the community. They can also potentially provide tax advantages to you (i.e., avoiding capital gains taxes).

Make an Endowment Gift

An endowment gift is a long-term investment in RMFI. Leave your legacy in the Pikes Peak Region by making an endowment gift that will support your favorite RMFI program now and long into the future. Please contact RMFI's Executive Director, Jennifer Peterson, to discuss in more detail (719-471-7736, ext. 1#). To learn more about our existing endowment, please click here.

Donate Outdoor Gear

RMFI is proud to be supported by Mountain Equipment Recyclers (MER). Located at 1024 S. Tejon Street, MER will accept donations of gently used outdoor equipment and apparel on behalf of RMFI and a percentage of those item's sales will support our work.

Donate a Vehicle

RMFI crews rely primarily on 4WD crew cab trucks to transport tools, people, and supplies to project sites. However, small trucks, SUVs, and even cars can be of benefit to RMFI (i.e., getting us to more accessible project locations, providing more fuel-efficient transportation to meetings, conferences, etc.). If you have a vehicle in good working order that you'd like to donate, just let us know the make, model, year, odometer reading, and maintenance history.

Alternatively, you can donate your vehicle to RMFI through http://vehiclesforcharity.org/. Simply search for "Rocky Mountain Field Institute" and complete the provided form. They will pick up your vehicle for free and send RMFI a check for the proceeds.

Donate a Camera

For monitoring, recording, and showcasing our work accomplishments on the ground, our crews must be ready to document all projects with photos. We are always in need of small cameras that can fit in a pocket of a working crew member. If you have a working camera with a charger that you no longer need, please consider donating it to RMFI so we may continue documenting the impacts our organization makes in the field.

Shop Online

RMFI is a participant in AmazonSmile and iGive, which both donate a small percentage of the items you buy back to RMFI. The amounts aren't huge, but add up in big ways!

Volunteer

We are honest when we say we could not do what we do without the help of community volunteers who believe in our mission and want to give back. Visit our volunteer calendar to learn more about our projects and how you can sign up! We also have a need for office volunteers to help with data entry, file organization, small projects, and other things. Just get in touch with us and we'll do our best to accommodate your desire to give back and help out!
