Gill Trail is a ~5-mile trail popular with anglers who visit the area to enjoy the Gold Medal waters of the South Platte River through Cheesman Canyon. The large volume of use can cause significant impacts to water quality and fish habitat. RMFI is partnering with the U.S. Forest Service and Trout Unlimited (Cutthroat Chapter) to mitigate the impacts and ensure the quality and sustainability of this beloved fishing area. The primary goals of the project are to stabilize and harden fishing access points, improve the designated trail, and address severe erosion issues.
